I came across the word doula after my own two births, when I was helping a friend of mine with hers. At that time there were no trainings in Budapest, Hungary (where I’m from), so I had nowhere to go to learn how to help women with their births. Nonetheless, I helped my friend and my sister in law with her baby during the birth and helped them and many friends and family members as a postpartum doula after their babies were born.
Coming from another country, I know how confusing and hard it can be to navigate in a place that is new to you. I can help you find your way when you’re preparing for your baby’s birth, be it in a hospital, birthing center or your home. I have experience with New York and Long Island hospitals, midwife practices and home births, so I can help you choose whichever suits best for your needs and preferences.
My main goal as a doula is to help you feel as safe and comfortable as possible, and, even more importantly, work with you to build your self confidence regarding giving birth. I believe that birthing happens as much in the mind/soul as in the physical body, and if the mother (and partner) are well informed and aware of what’s happening during pregnancy and birth in her body, it will make her be able to keep her calm, strength and confidence.
When I came to New York over three years ago, I soon realized that helping mothers birth their babies is my path and started training with DONA International. I completed their training in September, 2017 and right after that, became a mentee at Manhattan Birth where I get support from a group of amazing birth professionals (birth and post partum doulas, midwives, lactation consultants, etc.). Since then, I got my Advanced Holistic Doula certification from The Matrona (Whapio Diane Bartlett).
My training as of now also includes doula training with DONA international, the DONA Childbirth class, the DONA Post Partum Doula training, Manhattan Birth’s Lactation basics Course and Lactation Case Studies Workshop.
I am a certified Advanced Holistic Doula, trained by Whapio Diane Pilgrim (The Matrona) and a Holistic Hospital Doula, certified through the Matrona.
In the past, I always looked for the ‘right’ skin products for myself and my family. My interest in organic products made me start experimenting with natural ingredients and DYI recipes. In the process, I became passionate about essential oils. Seeking to reinforce the healing and beautifying qualities of my creams, I began using pure essential oils to find my own blending style. This led to creating a line of chemical-free, organic products, which reflect my own attitude to life: Simple, Natural and Easy.
As a doula, I discovered the beneficial effect of my oils, creams and salves on the body and soul of the mothers before and after the birth, as well as their babies. It followed only naturally that I started to create a line of mama and baby products, that would help mothers relax and heal after the birth.
